Motivational Mug Monday – Planning for a Successful Week

Happy Monday, Friends! How was your weekend? Mine was fantastic. We didn’t really do anything too exciting but it was great nonetheless. First things first..

I love this mug from Target. It is HUGE and I totally live in a messy bun the majority of the day. In fact, I’m sporting the messy bun right now but no need for a picture of this hot mess-ness this morning! How was your weekend? Anyone do anything crazy, fun, something I’d be super jealous of? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments section!

On Saturday, I took Bella to the barn to ride her horse and she talked me into hopping on for a ride. I haven’t ridden a horse in like 25 years so it was interesting to say the least. I would love to hear her recollection of the time we spent there because, while I would say that I was comfortable on the horse and a natural, I am sure she would say something quite the opposite! Bella and I had so much fun, just the two of us, and I was so glad that we went out there. It isn’t very often that she and I get to spend time together without Caroline and she was thrilled to be able to give me a “lesson” on her horse, Sugar.

Jackson returned home from his 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. on Sunday morning around 7:30 a.m. I jumped out of bed when I got his call that they were 30 minute from school. He was gone less than five days and I missed him so much! It was the first time he had ever been on a trip without his Dad or I. They took charter buses and he told me didn’t sleep at all during their 10 hour drive home. He came right home, showered, immediately fell asleep and didn’t emerge from his room until 4:00 yesterday afternoon! While he was in hibernation mode, John picked up breakfast for us, and Bella and Caroline gave me my Mother’s Day gifts. Aren’t these flowers beautiful? Bella picked them out herself.

She also made me the sweetest handmade card and they gave me an iPad! Holy moly! I finally joined the iPad world. It will be super handy for blogging while I’m traveling.

I made a super yummy Buffalo Chicken Dip last night with veggies and a sliced baguette for dipping. I’ll be sure to add the recipe to the website here in just a bit. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t LOVE Buffalo Chicken Dip. I seriously ate so much of it last night that I was ill.

Last night, as I always do, I checked my planners and calendars to get an idea of what we all have going on this week. It got me thinking – I don’t know that I could survive without my calendars and planners. I’m one of those people that needs paper calendars. I can’t function on just an iPhone calendar. I need to be able to see it in front of me on paper, and as if that isn’t enough, every Sunday night I write out my week on the whiteboard calendar!

Calendar-organized

No hate mail about how little is on my calendar this week. Most days I am running all over God’s creation but this week is actually pretty light. Being that I’m not triple booked every single day, I’m going to take advantage of it and really attempt to tend to some things around the house that I’ve been neglecting.

Don’t have a planner but feel like your life is crazy, out of control and just flat out unorganized? Start with a planner like this one here >>> http://amzn.to/2r97iao

That’s all for now.. I hope that everyone has a safe, happy and productive week!

I appreciate every single one of you!

XOXO, Jodi
