Helllooo Weekend! One of the reasons I wanted to start a blog was because I really wanted an outlet to be able to share with you all some of my favorite things that I swear have totally made my life so much easier. With three kids, I am always on the hunt for time saving tricks and tips.
Those who know me well get that I love food. Ha! They also know that I love really, really GOOD food. Doritos, Oreos, Qdoba, of course, but what I really mean is pure, clean, healthy ingredient food. Now that Jackson and Bella are older and are able to make their own decisions regarding what foods they put into their body, it has been a struggle with them. As for Caroline, there really isn’t an excuse for feeding her junk. She can’t choose for herself, and since she’s never really had the junk, she can’t fight me on it. As her mama, I am in total control of what she eats and I’m responsible for teaching her heathy eating habits, even at a young age.

When she was five months old I decided to start making her baby food myself. A childhood friend of mine gave me an Infantino Squeeze Station for a baby shower gift so I started using that. It was super easy to use and when she was ready for solid food at six months, I was all set! I made her squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, pears, applesauce, etc. I was so proud that I was able to feed her such healthy and clean food!
Infantino Squeeze Station – PERFECT baby shower gift!
Fast forward to not long before she turned ten months old. Truthfully, I was a little burnt out on making all of her food and I really wanted to start offering her more of a variety of foods. We just so happened to run across this awesome company called Cafe Baby! Jeannie, a busy working mom, co-founded the company, Cafe Baby, with her mom, Sherri. Like most moms, Jeannie was struggling to keep up the demands of working outside of the home AND preparing fresh and healthy meals for her child. She and her mom came up with the idea for Cafe Baby and they’ve been delivering happiness to moms and babies ever since.
There are so many things that I love about this company. First of all, their customer service is TOP NOTCH. We have forgotten to place an order by the deadline before, and Jeannie has reached out to us to be sure we didn’t need anything (in every situation where she reached out to us, we actually meant to order, but forgot!). Second, their food..is..delicious. No exaggeration. We’ve pretty much all had a taste of store bought baby food. It just doesn’t taste fresh. There have been several meals where I have actually had to open a second container for Caroline because I couldn’t quit eating it! When we receive our delivery from Jeannie, I place all of the containers in the freezer, and every night before bed, I pull out the containers I will feed Caroline the following day, and place them in the refrigerator to begin the thawing process.
They have bundles based on the age of your child (Spoonies for 4-6 months, Chewies for 7-9 months or Chompies for 10 months and up) or you can order ala carte. They now have Grabbies which are fun finger foods for your curious toddler who would rather feed him or herself (puzzle shaped pizza bites, chicken nibbles, lentil sweet potato tots, etc.) and they also offer muffins, biscotti and biscuits. For all of you nursing mamas, they have Lactation Cookies, too!
The ordering process is super simple. You purchase an insulated Cafe Baby cooler bag at the time of your first order ($10.00 one time purchase and it’s yours to keep) to use for delivery each week. You place your order by midnight on Wednesday and set out the cooler on delivery day (the following Monday) with an ice pack, and Jeannie delivers your order that Monday evening between 5-9 pm. An added bonus, you save $$ if you set a subscription.
I love the fact that I can actually read everything on the ingredients list. It’s fruits, veggies, protein, grains and water, cooked and prepared with love, in an Indy kitchen. You aren’t feeding your baby all of the added sugar and sodium that come in most store bought baby foods. I can honestly tell you that if I had a full time away from home job, and there wasn’t a baby food delivery service in my area, I would be buying store bought baby food. It just comes down to time! Cafe Baby makes feeding time so much easier and I feel so good about what I am feeding Caroline! In addition to their website, be sure to check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Should they not deliver in your area, I definitely recommend checking online to see if there is another baby food delivery service that does. Happy Feeding!’
I appreciate you!
Note: this is NOT a paid post and I’m receiving nothing from Cafe Baby for this review. I just love them that much! 😉
