Hi, friends! Thank you so much for following Perfect Me Not. I am so thrilled that you’re here! Let me tell you a little bit about myself before getting into exactly why I’m beginning this crazy journey. My name is Jodi. This is a picture of me all dolled up:

And this is the real Jodi:

I’m a lucky mama of three super sweet kiddos (Jackson, Bella, and Caroline). I recently celebrated my 35th birthday and I truly do believe that you are only as old as you feel.

Here’s a recent picture of my kiddos:

A couple of months ago, someone asked me, “What does Jodi like to do?” Honest to goodness, I had no idea how to answer that question. While I was at a loss for words, someone who knows me very well spoke up and said, “Well, you love to read, and what about running? You enjoy that, too.” Do I? Do I enjoy all of those things? I used to, but I can’t even remember the last time I ran consistently (other than running my kids back and forth somewhere), or the last time that I read a book from start to finish. Shoot, I can’t even seem to make it to the grocery store on a consistent basis. I have been insanely bored, unexcited, and completely uninspired lately.

I follow a few lifestyle blogs that I really do enjoy reading. I enjoy their recipe shares, their tips on finding bargains and piecing together outfits that I maybe wouldn’t have otherwise thought to piece together. I love that they don’t focus entirely on motherhood. And these blogs aren’t teaching you how to look and live perfectly. They are providing useful information for today’s women in a lighthearted, fun format.

My hope is that, by beginning this journey of blogging and sharing, I too can provide something that you enjoy and that inspires you to be a better version of yourself. I hope that I can make you shine brighter in some way. Maybe a fashion post will motivate you to buy YOU something new, because well, you DESERVE it! You’ve got an insanely busy week with your job, and the kids are starting four new after school commitments this week, and you are tired of the same old dinner recipes. I want to share dinner recipes that don’t take an hour of prep work (who has that kind of time?!).  And last but not least, I want to create a community of lovely women who are supporting one another, lifting each other up, and sharing their ideas on how to make life a little more enjoyable and a heck of a lot smoother!

I appreciate you!

XOXO, Jodi

P.S. Come to think of it, I love dresses (like, I really, really love them – it’s an obsession), coffee, makeup, all things girly girl, garbage Real Housewives television, sunshine, the beach and singing car karaoke with my kids. I love challenges and adventures, Jesus, my family, and strong women who aren’t afraid to lift one another up. Besides, nobody’s perfect.
